After an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering at a Kiel shipyard, Peter Mackeprang decided to go to sea with the F. Laeisz shipping company. His practical experience was followed by studies at the university of applied sciences in Flensburg. He graduated in 1994 with a diploma in engineering and a CIW certificate in ship operating technology. He then spent three years on board as a ship's engineer, before becoming an inspector in 1997 for the Petersoen shipping company in Rendsburg. In 2001 Mr Mackesprang came to HANSA SHIPPING, where he worked as a technical inspector and as the officer responsible for the new shipbuilding schedule. Since May 2008 he has been a Managing Director, and from 2009 will be assuming overall responsibility for the entire Nautical Technology division.
